Tiffany Johnson is a seasoned business professional and the Executive Director of The Pillars of Grand Rapids. With a strong commitment to compassionate leadership and operational excellence, she ensures quality care and a supportive environment for residents and staff alike. Outside of work, Tiffany enjoys reading and spending time outdoors with her family and friends.
Sherry Frick serves as the Director of Sales and Marketing at The Pillars of Grand Rapids, where she brings more than four years of experience helping seniors and their families navigate the important journey of finding the right living and care options. Born and raised in Grand Rapids, Sherry’s deep community roots and genuine compassion for people shine through in every connection she makes.
Passionate about guiding individuals and families through life’s transitions, Sherry takes pride in creating a welcoming environment where residents can truly “love where they live.” Her thoughtful, people-first approach has made her a trusted resource and advocate within the senior living community.
Outside of work, Sherry enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband of over 30 years, their daughter, and beautiful granddaughter. She finds peace and inspiration in the simple joys of life: reading, exploring the woods, and spending time on the water.
Christina brings over 23 years of experience in long-term care. She began her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in 2002 and advanced her education and expertise by earning her Registered Nurse (RN) license in 2015. Since then, she has served in various leadership and managerial roles within the field.
Christina values teamwork and collaboration, believing that working closely with residents, families, and staff leads to meaningful solutions that enhance the quality of life for those in her care.
Outside of work, Christina enjoys four-wheeling, hunting, camping, kayaking, and spending time with her fiancé and children.
Rob brings over 20 years of maintenance experience from the United States Postal Service. After retiring in 2025, he sought a role where he could continue doing what he loves—fixing things, solving problems, and helping people. The senior living industry proved to be the perfect fit, allowing him to brighten someone’s day while staying hands-on with the work he enjoys.
As Director of Maintenance, Rob leads his team to keep the community safe, comfortable, and well maintained. He sets high standards for responsiveness and quality, ensuring residents enjoy a building that truly feels like home.
Outside of work, Rob enjoys the outdoors of northern Minnesota. In the summer, he cycles or cruises on his pontoon; in winter, he spends as much time as possible ice fishing. He also loves gathering with family and friends, especially when firing up the smoker for a backyard barbecue.
Melissa is a dedicated Life Enrichment Director with a passion for creating meaningful experiences that enhance the quality of life for older adults. With a strong background in program development, event planning, and resident engagement, Melissa designs and leads activities that support social, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.
Her experience includes ten years in healthcare and twenty years in education.
She is committed to fostering a vibrant and inclusive community where every resident feels valued, connected, and inspired. Melissa thrives on bringing creativity and compassion into her work, from coordinating dynamic group events to offering personalized enrichment opportunities that reflect everyone’s interests and abilities.
With her warm leadership style and attention to detail, Melissa plays a key role in building a culture of joy, purpose, and belonging within the community she serves.
Koby Broking brings more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare field, with a background ranging from direct care as a Resident Assistant to leadership in the business office. Her dedication to residents and their families shines through in everything she does, and she is passionate about making each person feel supported and cared for.
Outside of work, Koby enjoys spending time with her family at sporting events. Her son plays soccer and her daughter is an ice skater, and she loves cheering them on from the sidelines and the rink. Whether in the stands, out on the water, or at the track, Koby enjoys the moments that bring her family closer together.
Christine Giersdorf is a seasoned Certified Dietary Manager and Certified Food Protection Professional based in Deer River, Minnesota. With decades of experience in healthcare food service management, Chris has dedicated her career to ensuring high standards in nutrition, food safety, and patient-centered care.
Her professional journey includes leadership roles in clinical dietary services, where she has been instrumental in developing and maintaining compliant, efficient, and compassionate food service operations. Chris is known for her hands-on approach, strong team leadership, and commitment to continuous improvement in dietary practices.
A graduate of Le Sueur/Henderson High School in southern Minnesota, Chris has remained deeply connected to her Minnesota roots, contributing to the well-being of her community through her work in healthcare settings, including affiliations with organizations like Essentia Health, Brookstone Manor and most recently, The Pillars of Grand Rapids.
Outside of her professional life, Chris is a devoted family member and active community participant, known for her warmth, reliability, and dedication to service.
Laurie joined The Pillars in March 2024 and currently serves as the Assistant Director of Nursing. She brings extensive experience in long-term care and a strong clinical background, having worked as a Surgical Technologist for 21 years. Laurie is passionate about building meaningful connections with residents, learning their life stories, and fostering a compassionate care environment. Outside of her professional role, she enjoys spending time outdoors—fishing, gardening, and embracing nature.
